2016 - Prometheus Charity Golf Day raises £3397.95 for Mercia Accident Rescue Service.

Prometheus once again ran its annual charity golf day in aid of Mercia Accident Rescue Service. This year’s event took place on 24th June 2016 and was held at the Herefordshire Golf Club, Wormsley. As always the event was open to everybody and was a great day out for all involved. Prometheus is now in the 9th year of organising this charity golf day - last year’s event raised £3135.39 and this year they topped that with a fantastic £3397.95 Prometheus considers MARS to be the most valuable of local charities, providing life-saving care at the roadside and fully deserving of support from the community it helps.

2015 - Wye Women host a City Group meeting and meet Dr Katie White

Wye Women hosted a City Group meeting at St Johns Church Hall, Hereford. The original speaker Dr Malcom Russell of the Mercia Accident Rescue Service was flown out to Nepal as part of the UK international rescue team.  However, Dr Katie White stood in and did a splendid job of explaining how MARS work together with a display of the equipment used. Mercia Accident Rescue Service (or MARS) is a charity operation based on providing a fast-response, highly experienced medical team to back up the emergency services of the English counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The audience was very appreciative of her time. Wye Women went on to provided a delicious buffet supper.
