The Team

Dr Dick Herbert Location - Kidderminster [Registered Medical Practitioner] Qualified B'ham and London 1963. Anaesthetist in United B'ham Hospitals and a GP principal in Kidderminster from 1967 -1998. Anaesthetist at Kidderminster general hospital until 2006. Co-founder of the Wyre Forest Immediate Care Team in 1980 which helped form the North Worcestershire Scheme in 1982. I have always been passionate about immediate care, a vital service to the seriously injured. In 2002 he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee medal for his voluntary work with the emergency services.
Dr David Houston Location - Hereford [Registered Medical Practitioner] Qualified in Aberdeen in 1993, serving in the British Army until 2007 working in the field of pre-hospital care, remote medicine and expedition planning throughout his career. David is a highly experienced General Practitioner and is accomplished in immediate medical care, he lectures on a variety of pre-hospital medical courses. David provides medical support to a wide range of events including the Isle of Man TT Races and recently in 2008 to the Land Rover GO 60 Challenge. He firmly believes in the value that MARS provides to the emergency services and to the local community. - Holder of the DIMC RSC Ed
Dr James Papworth Location - Hereford [Registered Medical Practitioner] James Papworth qualified as a doctor from Leeds Universiy in 1994. He went on to join the Army and became involved in Pre-Hospital Care while serving in various over-seas locations. He has been involved in the training of Army medics for many years. He qualified as a GP in 2000 and entered NHS General Practice in 2008.
Dr Nick Crombie Location - Bromsgrove [Registered Medical Practitioner] Nick is a full time anaesthetist, recently appointed as a Consultant at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham where his special interest is Trauma and Burns surgery. He has worked for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance as a HEMS Doctor for three years and is pleased to now be a part of MARS to provide cover to his home county of Worcestershire.
